General CCN News, Changes and Updates:
The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports presented Community Care Network with the 2007 Gold Standard Award for Continued Excellence in Work site Wellness. Six individuals and 42 employers were recognized for their work site wellness efforts and CCN was one of four who received the Gold Standard Award for Continued Excellence in Work site Wellness. The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports is a physical activity promotion and advocacy group, comprised of volunteers appointed by the Governor to represent a broad spectrum of Vermonters. The Council’s mission is to promote wellness through physical activity for people of all fitness and ability levels.
CARF International
Three Year Accreditation Received
On May 22, 2007, Rutland Mental Health Services (RMHS) was again accredited by CARF International (The Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for a period of three years for 22 of its programs. RMHS has received CARF Accreditation for the past twenty years. This achievement is an indication of the organization's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served.

Ten Community Care Network programs received United Way funding during 2006. CCN's employees, through fund raising efforts, contributed $11,000 to help United Way of Rutland County achieve its fund raising goal.
Rutland Mental Health completed its redesignation process through the State of Vermont for Mental Health, Child and Family, Adult and Developmental Disabilities. The redesignation is for a three year period of time.
CCN has a new recruitment campaign entitled “Faces of Hope”. These ads are designed to not only list open positions, but evoke a feeling of caring, compassion and commitment of our staff. The website will also display a new look in line with this ad campaign and will be more functional and efficient.
Rutland Mental Health Services and Rutland Community Programs purchased two houses on Engrem Avenue and one property on Jackson Avenue in the on-going effort to consolidate services. The house at 10 Engrem Avenue is the headquarters for the Early Childhood Team. Plans for the other properties have not been finalized. The Child and Family Services program is presently located in several locations and consolidation of services will increase program efficiencies.
The Rutland Area Physical Activity Coalition (RAPAC) received a Vermont Department of Health grant award in the amount of $111,714 to fund ongoing health and physical activity initiatives in Rutland County from July 2007 through July 2008. The grant comes from the state Coordinated Healthy Activity, Motivation and Prevention Programs.
InterAge Adult Day Program has relocated and will be working collaboratively with PACE Vermont, Inc. (Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly). The program is now housed at the newly constructed Maples complex off of Stratton Road in Rutland. The combined program in brand new fully accessible facility presents an exciting new choice of care and services for frail elders residing in Rutland County.
The Foster Grandparent Program, One-2-One and RSVP and the Volunteer Center are all located at 6 Court Street using the space vacated by InterAge.
There are plans to relocate several other programs over the next year to better align services to meet the needs of clients throughout the agency.
