John Stempek has retired from the Rutland Mental Health Services Board of Directors after serving nine years as the Secretary.  John continues to serve as the Chairman of Rutland Community Programs.

Ted Earle has retired from Rutland Community Programs Board of Directors after serving nine years as the Vice Chairman.  Ted continues to serve on the Board of Rutland Mental Health Services.
     
Welcome to new Board Members   The Board of Directors of Rutland Mental Health Services welcomed new Board member Judy Barone and returning Board member, Ron Holm at the Annual Meeting held on November 3, 2009.
     
 

Rutland Mental Health Services has again received CARF accreditation for three years.  CARF is quoted to say "This achievement is an indication of the organization's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served.  Services, personnel, and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of practice excellence."  The CARF (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Survey was held on October 7-9, 2009.  Every three years, Rutland Mental Health Services is surveyed by this international organization.  CARF's mission statement is: To promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.  The RMHS programs reviewed were:

2009 Employee of the Year
Shawna Eastman-Lane has been named Employee of the Year for Community Care Network. Shawna has worked for Rutland Mental Health Services since 1999 as a Success School Counselor. This honor was given to her because she encourages children and staff to be the best they can.  She helps children develop a sense of self-worth by her positive interactions and constant encouragement. Shawna is one of the four Don LaRouche Spirit Award winners.

The Don LaRouche Spirit Award was created in memory of Don LaRouche, a 23 year veteran of our Agency whose contributions to our community, staff and clients represent the highest ideals in health and human services. The purpose of this award is to recognize staff on a yearly basis for their dedication to the Mission, Vision and Core Values of our Agency. The nominees were selected by their peers.

  The Vermont Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports Honors presented Community Care Network/Rutland Mental Health Services with the 2009 Recognition for Worksite Wellness.
